The Bijou Theatre, located at 108 1st Avenue S in Chesley, Ontario, is a historic venue that has been a cornerstone of the community's cultural life since its inception in 1909. Originally opened as a silent film cinema, it has undergone several transformations over the years. In 2003, the Kuchma family purchased the building and, after extensive renovations, reopened it in 2014 as a live performance space, restoring its original name, "Bijou"
Today, the Bijou Theatre serves as the home of the Chesley Community Players, an amateur theatre group founded in 1996. The theatre hosts a variety of productions, including comedies like Four Old Broads and Tea & Strumpets . With a seating capacity of 200, it continues to be a vital part of Chesley's cultural landscape, offering a warm and welcoming environment for both performers and audiences.
