Charlie Polinger was the director/writer/producer of several short films from 2013 to 2023 until he made his feature debut as director/writer of the psychological thriller, The Plague (2025), co-starring Everett Blunck, Kayo Martin and Kenny Rasmussen and with producer Joel Edgerton in a supporting role, premiering at the Cannes Film Festival’s Un Certain Regard competition (where it won Best Sound Creation Award) and released in wide pattern by Independent Film Company.
Polinger pivoted to producer only on Lucy McKendrick’s comedy-thriller, Fangs (date to be announced), starring Joel Edgerton, Toni Collette, Lucy McKendrick, and backed by Screen Australia/Ahimsa Films/Aggregate Films.
Polinger returned to his triple-threat status as director/writer/producer of the remake of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Masque of the Red Death (date to be announced), starring Mikey Madison, and produced by Picturestart.
