Scharfman stepped up to the three roles of director, writer and producer of a feature movie with the horror-comedy, Death of a Unicorn (2025), starring Paul Rudd, Jenna Ortega, Will Poulter, Téa Leoni and Richard E. Grant, premiering at the South by Southwest Film Festival before a wide release by A24.
Scharfman has been a producer, associate producer, line producer, or executive producer for a range of features by American indie/art movie filmmakers. Including filmmaker Ira Sachs’ fine drama, Keep the Lights On (2012). Director/writer Michael A. Nickles’s horror movie, Playback (2012).

Co-directors/writers Bridget Savage Cole’s and Danielle Krudy’s dark crime comedy, Blow the Man Down (2019), premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival. Director/writer Andrew Semans’s thriller, Resurrection (2022), starring Rebecca Hall and Tim Roth.
